I loved my school. Actually, I still go back sometimes to do talks about studying science at university and what it’s like to work in a lab.
There is a funny time during your studies at university when you fall in love with your science and just want to find as much about it as you can. When you are at university studying physics of chemistry, you have to pay to study it. Then, when you do a PhD, they pay you! There is lots of great fun involved too- you get to do lots of travelling (I’ve been to lots of Europe, to Samsung in Korea, China, America) and meet people from all different countries. You also get to meet lots of great scientists in the UK who you would probably have never met otherwise. I like seeing inside different companies and industries, for example, seeing where they make all of the crazy plastics I am using for my solar panels. When you do a PhD, you get to do lots of teaching to different students at schools and universities- I love this part too. Actually, everything you do in a PhD is amazing!
