It’s not really possible for us to say. the earth is about 4,500 million years old, and life in some form has been around for about 3,500 million years. No one was there to write down just exactly when the world began. Earlier in time, the world was super hot, and there was only carbon dioxide there. Some how all the molecules started to copy and ‘replicate’. The molecules started to copy and duplicate. WE don’t quite no why they started to copy and duplicate. Over millions of years they joined up, got more complicated. Some how they began to depend on one another. Darwin was a great scientist who looked at plans and animals in the 19th century. He looked at the science of animals and plants and wrote a famous book on evolution called On the Origin of Species’. Darwin’s ideas caused a lot of controversy. Simple life forms started 3 billion years ago. Darwin explained how these little bacteria became the animals and humans we have today. Check it out!
