Hey Genius! Your mum has done well! One of my top two teachers at my school taught chemistry, and I still speak to him. I would encourage my children to do anything they wanted to do- whether that was science or singing in a band or painting! But I would also encourage them to be inquisitive and never stop asking questions! I would try and make home life fun with lots of different experiments- and show them how cool maths can be!
Thank your mum for bringing the joy of chemistry to her pupils!

Hey, love the elemental name btw. If/when I have kids, even if I’m not a scientist anymore, I would love to instill in them the wonder and appreciation for what’s around us that I have. Asking questions, testing hypothesis and drawing conclusions are pretty sound principles for life generally so I would love it if they applied a scientific way of thinking to their lives.

Must be great to have a mum know lots about science!

One day when I have children I’ll help them with science too and if they want to go further into it for a job I will fully support them. However if they wanted to do something else I would be just as proud and would help them with what they wanted to do.

I think I’d like them to do something that makes them happy, if that’s chemstry all the better
