        You can use gold to do loads of things- for some medicines, to make jewellery, to make lasers glow great colours. We can eat it in chocolates, or send it to space or use it in skin care. We use it in solar panels and also to make TV screens and displays.

        I use gold because it reflects light really well. when I shine lasers at my molecules, often there aren’t many so to make them really light up I have to get as much reflection to see the molecules as possible. Then we can use light to see tiny amounts of materials. It’s really clever and the maths is super interesting.
