I like that my work is totally different everyday and is not the same thing over and over.
So one day I may be doing a colour analysis, on another I may be developing a method for a brand new medicine or checking that a method is a good one to use – all on different types of medicines like injections, for inhalers or tablets!

I love that I get to do something that I enjoy everyday and they even pay me ! No two days are the same there is some paperwork but thats ok . Its good to be able to be a use in society by ensuring that the drinking water is at the right standard and safe. I also get o go out to schools and talk about science as a career which is brillant

I love experiments and writing up experiments. I also love the teaching I can do. I love the freedom to take my creativity from art and cooking and put it in the lab- use my cooking skills to measure molecules of conductors not molecules of onions! Sometimes it gets really stressful when you can’t work out why something is happening, or often why it isn’t happening!

I don’t like when experiments go wrong. Sometimes when I’m heating my molecules up to 350 C they set on fire ! Then there are some awful smells. Once something did a weird thing called ‘subliming’- it changed straight from a solid to a gas without becoming liquid. That’s like an ice cube becoming steam without being water! It went everywhere, and painted the ceiling of our lab neon orange! This happens in the kitchen too- me and my dad have competitions to see who can cut the celery and carrots the smallest. Once we spent about two hours preparing all of the ingredients and browning the meat, then we added a cube of fish stock rather than beef stock! Nightmare! We had to throw the whole thing away!
