This is bad news ! The answer is in your question though- it is illegal! So if anyone finds out the person will be in prison for a very long time. Drugs are bad for lots of reasons- they aren’t good for your body or your brain and can mean you spend lots of time in hospital. Medicines and tablets (like an inhaler or paracetamol) are made very carefully in special laboratories that the government controls. Because bad drugs are illegal, they aren’t made very well and no one in the government checks them. That means you don’t end up taking what you think you’re taking and no one quite knows or understands what it will do to you.
It’s much more easier to have fun legally !

Illegal drugs are substances that have been made illegal (not allowed) because they do some sort of damage to our bodies/brains but can also be because they are easily abused (not used properly by the right people or very addictive).
Medicines are made with just the right amount of drug to help a person get better. They are made in places that do lots of different checks to make sure everything is perfect before the person has to take that medicine. Also, many are only available through your doctor. So this helps make sure the right people get the right medicine.
Illegal drugs are not normally made very carefully and can be mixed with other dangerous things like rat poison or even brick dust! As well as this the drug itself can cause lots of damage.
There is a horse anesthetic called Ketamine that is usually used to help horses as they undergo surgery. However some people are very silly and may used it; then suffer from vomiting, double vision, hallucinations and their hearts beating either too fast or too slow.
Steroids prescribed by the doctor can help you with a number of things like if you have really bad asthma. But others known as anabolic steroids are not good! Some people take these to try and build muscle – a bad idea! As they can make you go bald, become aggressive, have very bad spots and can cause liver or kidney tumours.
Other illegal drugs such as cannabis and cocaine can cause the person taking them to become very addicted to them. So much so that they could turn to crime and do other nasty things just so they can have more drugs.
Illegal drugs are very bad and if anyone tries to give you some say no and tell someone you trust like a teacher/mum/dad straight away!
They are illegal so a person found with such drugs on them or giving/selling them to friends can go to prison for a very long time.
