The earth spins because of gravity. About 4.6 billion years ago our local solar system formed, when a cloud of gas and dust collapsed due to gravity. Then it started to spin around. It’s all because energy is always conserved, a basic rule of physics. When you see a pro ice skater on the ice and moves their arms inwards, they spin super quickly to make sure energy is conserve. All the little molecules in the solar system are spinning and moving really fast, so we need to conserve all that energy by spinning the world around. There is a big cloud of hydrogen that we are spinning around in the middle of. When that cloud runs out of steam, or hydrogen, we will stop spinning. Sooner than that (but at no time in our lives!) The sun will run out of fuel, and explode!
