Wow! Tricky one for a Monday morning. I think a great scientist has to be super clever and have good ideas for projects. They also have to be easy to work with, because science is a team effort and requires everyone to help out. Even if you’re the most clever scientist in the world, if no one likes you then they won’t want to work with you on any of your projects, and you’ll find it hard to find the answers alone.

I hope I’m easy to work with. Being funny is something that I’ll work on!

I think you do need to have a pretty outgoing personality to work in science. I suppose it may be different if you are working on your own but we need to work very closly in our lab just to cope with the volume of work and it is better is we all get on. So there are times when I can be anoying when I want my point of view to be heard but normally we have a laugh. I work with schools as a STEM ambassador so I need to have a bubbly personality and not take my self too seriously.
