      Hey Llama,

Why would you want an electric pen? In the olden days, Thomas Edison made one in 1875, way before we had computers and printers. He made it so that they could print lots of copies of one thing. It works by making a stencil and pricking a piece of paper, then rubbing it with ink. In 1880, everyone realised that no one really wanted one!

You can get special things called ‘styluses’ that let you draw on the touch sensitive screen of your iPad, or a ‘track pad’ if you use it plugged in to your comptuer. The touch pad works with a sensor. It has a little electric current all over it, and when your finger or the stylus comes close ot hte current it changes the electric current and then the screen feels your finger. It’s so clever!
