      Hey Chaz,

Sea water is salty because it rubs salt from all of the rocks around the edges of the sea. The sea laps up against the mountains and rubs the little parts of rock into the ocean. the rocks contain loads of chemicals that contain sodium chloride. The sodium chloride is like common table salt at home, and makes the sea salty.
